LXM and Adrenaline set the stage for the LXM|ATS 2013 tournament season with a weekend saturated with top tier lacrosse both on the professional and high school level. Immediately following the end of the spring season, LXM will kick off its first professional game of the 2013 LXM|ATS season with its 4th visit to Orange County on June 8th, 2013. Orange Coast College will host a double header featuring the LXM and Adrenaline All-American games for a 4:30 PM and 7:00 PM start time, respectively.  The first LXM game of the series will act as a precursor to The ADRLN All-American game, a competition among the top 50 players in western North America. LXM players, the mentors and inspiration for some if not all the Adrenaline All-Americans, will watch and support the AAA teams. As the birthplace of LXM and home of a number of the LXM players, Orange County is expected to host record numbers of attendants. Last year’s event saw live attendance figures of 8000+ fans.

June 8th marks the first stop on the much anticipated LXM|ATS tour. As usual the LXM professional event will correspond with a competitive tournament held at Orange Coast College and Jack Hammett Sports Complex. Competition will occur across five divisions- Elite (9th-12th grade), High School (9th& 10th grade only), Middle School (7th& 8th grade), Youth (5th& 6th grade), and Groms (3rd& 4th grade).  Games will start early Saturday morning and continue throughout the day leading up to the back-to-back LXM and AAA games. LXM|ATS sets itself apart from other tournament series because it combines the most elite level of competitive lacrosse with a full-length professional game to expose players to a higher level of play. Unique to the first LXM|ATS weekend is the addition of the Adrenaline All-American game because it bridges the gap between youth and professional lacrosse.  It showcases the possibilities and potential for youth players to one day be invited to this prestigious event and eventually play as an LXM PRO.

The Adrenaline All-American rosters are made of the top western soon-to-be graduated seniors who have committed to different NCAA universities to play at the collegiate level. Both teams will sport newly designed Adrenaline treated uniforms including matching jerseys, shorts, and socks. Maverik will contribute heavily to the gear pack by providing each player with the Maverik Boost shaft and a full set of pads. Players will also receive matching All-American Maverik Rome gloves and a newly released custom CPXR helmet to complete the outfit. As a part of the Adrenaline Marquee family, the 2013 All-American rosters include players from nine states and one province: Washington, Oregon, California, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, Texas, Minnesota, Nevada, and British Columbia.  Most of these talented players have come through the Adrenaline system.  Among the past AAA players that are making a splash at the collegiate level are Challen Rogers (Stony Brook), Michael Hernandez (Michigan), Tanner Scales (Virginia), and Dakota Rohlin (Jacksonville). Key players looking to fill their shoes in this year’s All-American game include Kieran Eissler (Hopkins), Lucas Gradinger (Maryland), Wilkins Dismuke (Hopkins), Matt Emery (Virginia) and Mike Schlosser (Michigan). As a proud partner of LXM PRO, The Lacrosse Network will live stream both games. Newly signed Knockaround has revamped the LXM PRO post-game autograph session and is open to all attending fans. Participating tournament players will receive free admission to both games.

LXM players and Adrenaline All-American players will also hold free clinics for all participating tournament players throughout the day that touch on different topics such as dodging & shooting, face-off techniques, goal-keeping & defensive positioning, and more. LXM Pro clinics give young players the opportunity to learn from the best athletes in the game, including LXM PRO and STX sponsored players such as Kyle Harrison, Sam Bradman, Tim Desko, and Matt Russell. Other returning members for Team STX include the Bratton twins, the Ritz brothers, Andrew Casimir, and Maxx Davis. The opposing team roster includes top-tier players such as Sean Lindsay, Graham Gill, JR Oreskovich, Brendan Porter, and Erik Krum.

Come watch Team STX and Team Maverikrock the fresh, new Adrenaline-treated Champion uniforms as they face off against one another on June 8th.  Players will also be equipped with custom Champion warm-ups including Crewneck Sweatshirts, sweatpants, and short and long sleeve shooting shirts. The Adrenaline design team has also partnered with Knockaround* sunglasses to create branded LXM shades, available for purchase. Other supporting sponsors of the LXM|ATS series include STX, Maverik*, Cascade*, Gatorade, SKLZ*, Athletes Performance*, and Adrenaline Apparel* (*also sponsors of AAA). Gatorade will be on site fueling all participating athletes with their G-Series products to boost overall performance. Tickets to the LXM and Adrenaline All-American games are available for purchase online. General admission and VIP tickets cost $ 20 and $100, respectively. The VIP experience includes sideline spectator privileges, a private autograph session immediately following the game, and on field pass for warm-ups and halftime, food and beverage, and access to LXM PRO clinics and demos. General admission includes a post game Knockaround autograph session and access to the LXM PRO clinics and demos. Notre Dame inspired coaching clinics will also be held team coaches and organizers throughout the day.

The Adrenaline Feel-it-Factory™ will be on-site fully equipped to showcase all the latest Adrenaline gear, including but not limited to the new Vendetta performance line and the Adrenaline summer line. The Feel-it-Factory ™ lends itself to a unique Orange County experience by bringing together the best local businesses to attend the event. In additions to local businesses offering equipment, food, apparel, and entertainment are on-site sponsors such as sponsors Cascade, Champion, STX, Maverik Lacrosse, Gatorade, Knockaround Sunglasses.  Game Time Footage will also be on-site to film the games that are available for purchase. Look out for event highlights on the LXM Youtube Channel.

adrenaline lacrosse, lacrosse, west coast lacrosse, training, adrenaline, adrln, lax, california lacrosse, lacrosse training, ncaa playoffs,

Being a player on the West Coast has never been better.  Every year players are getting more and more attention from major colleges and we are now seeing top high school programs going back East and challenging the nation’s best.  Every summer our West Coast Starz clubs travel back East and showcase the talent that is growing across the Mississippi.  I think one of the best things to happen to West Coast lacrosse is the amount of lacrosse being aired on TV.  Every weekend there are countless games being aired on ESPN, CBS Sports, and other networks.  I think watching college games are one of the best ways to improve your game.  These games present an opportunity for players to watch and learn from the best college lacrosse players.  You can tell last summer how many kids watched the NCAA playoffs by the amount of attackmen at club tournaments that were trying to “toe drag” their defenseman on every play.  Good or bad, they were clearly watching some of Mark Matthew’s amazing plays and trying to emulate him.  I think it is great for players to find a player whose style they like and practice playing like them.  For me, I used to watch Casey Powell and Scott Hotchstadt highlights on Youtube.  That’s right, Adrenaline’s own Scott Hotchstadt was a stud in college and one of the best all-around attackmen during his time at Maryland.  Check out his highlights on Youtube.

For smart players sitting down and watching your favorite team or players should not be enough.

For offensive players, it shouldn’t be just watching the player with the ball but the 5 guys around the ball.  Recognize their spacing away from the ball and their awareness on the field.  If you notice most of the goals that are happening are assisted or second-assisted goals.  It is rare that you see players driving and scoring unassisted.  Sure, it happens but most defenses are too good to give these up regularly.  This is true even at the high school level.  When you’re watching the games, watch how the adjacent player cuts through to clear a lane for the dodger.  Notice how the same player does not take his eye off the ball-carrier, observe how he either follows the slide or tries to seal the slide based on their offense.  Study how the crease player moves inside to find lanes, seals the slide, and position himself for well-timed cuts.  Keep an eye on how the adjacent help moves to shorten the pass and keep their sticks to the outside of their body “mirroring” the passer and protecting their stick with their body.  Watch the angle he takes in order to be ready to dodge off the pass or the re-direct.  Take a look at how the opposite player up top or on the backside moves to the right or left of the ball carrier to find the open lane and doesn’t cut until the appropriate time so he doesn’t crowd the crease.  Being able to dodge is based on athleticism which some have and some don’t.  But anyone can be a better off ball player which may not show up in the stat book but is certainly noticed by coaches and recruiters.  At the NCAA level everyone is an amazing athlete that can shoot the ball.  But being able to do the other stuff is what separates the good college players from the great college players.

On the defensive side of the ball, watch how the sliding defensive player positions himself in between his man and the ball.  Observe how he fights to get top side and not be sealed, how he will hedge or show sometimes, and the speed and angle he slides at when he is told to go.  Focus on how the off ball defenseman have their sticks up and they are constantly checking in on the backside to support the slide.  Notice how some programs require their defenseman to switch hands to take away passing lanes and cut down skip lanes when they are off ball.  This also helps defenseman to play their angles and not chase stick but keep their stick up field to eliminate the roll back.  Switching hands is something we started doing at La Costa Canyon and it has made our individual and team defense better immediately.  Try to watch the angle the on-ball defenseman takes and how he gets low, sits in his chair, and stays on the dodger’s hip.  Again, most top high school defensemen are incredible athletes who can pressure the ball.  But if you take that same player and move him off the ball they are lost.  As players get to the next level there is no more “take away” defenseman and understanding off ball play is the difference of playing or sitting the bench.

No matter what position you play everyone can learn and improve their game by watching the college games.  So the next time you sit down to watch a game, grab a paper and pen and take some notes. When the game is played at its best, it’s the little things that make the biggest difference.  It’s the difference between winning and losing; or starting or sitting.  Learning the little things might be just the thing to take your game up a notch.  Also, tape the games and replay certain players whose game you like.  Watch what they do and then go out and practice it.  Become a student of the game and watch your own game improve.  With the NCAA playoffs being aired on TV the next couple weeks there is no better time than right now to what the nation’s best, so enjoy.

Awesome Press Release From Our Friends at Utah Lacrosse!

For Immediate Release – Adrenaline Lacrosse

LXM made power moves last year as the company combined forces with Adrenaline Lacrosse to form LXM|ATS — a one-of-a-kind event combining professional lacrosse and the Adrenaline Tournament Series. LXM|ATS, presented by Champion, provides a platform for LXM PRO to play a full-length professional lacrosse game featuring forty of the sports’ most elite athletes in 13 different venues across the country. More importantly, LXM|ATS proves not only a way to showcase talent at the professional level, but has also become an important component of growing the game in the West by way of high school, middle school, and youth competition.

Following the LXM|ATS summer tour (California, Chicago, Minnesota, Pennsylvania), LXM PRO will return to Orem, Utah to kick of the fall tour on September 27th- 28th at Lakeside Sports Fields. Adrenaline and LXM PRO are excited to continue to facilitate growth of lacrosse in Utah as it was the most successful event of the 2012 LXM PRO season. Utah is an explosive area that has become a hotbed for lacrosse, and Adrenaline and Starz (now merged with Adrenaline) have made a big investment in the area. With two sectional teams already in place, Utah Starz and Blackhawks, and upcoming teams invited to participate in the Starz local teams (Northern Utah Thunder, Advantage, Top Guns, Jolly Roger), growth of Starz club programs in Utah contribute to the overall reputation of Starz as a dominant force in the West.

LXM|ATS has added quite a few new cities to the 2013 circuit in an effort to bring a higher level of play to new regions, while also realizing the importance of returning to cities where lacrosse programs are still in the beginning stages. JR Oreskovich, an LXM PRO player and marketing producer for Adrenaline comments, “I am excited to go to new areas such as Atlanta, Chicago, and Minnesota because these places are representative of where the sport is going- their markets for lacrosse are growing. It allows us to showcase the next level of lacrosse to those areas that don’t get to see it on an every day basis.” These words mean a lot coming from a San Diego native, a region that continues to dominate as one of the leaders in West Coast lacrosse. “But, I am excited to go back to all of the cities we’ve been to, especially Utah, which was probably our most successful event,” says Oreskovich. “The West Coast Starz program, where many of the participating teams come from, has opened my eyes to the development in those markets and I can’t wait to see how far they’ve come since our last event.” With Starz teams expanding in Utah, this year’s event will make for strong competition.

Over the course of the weekend, each team will play upwards of five games in an electric Adrenaline atmosphere. Teams will be matched up according to their division- Elite (9th-12th), High School (9th & 10th only), Middle School (7th-8th), Youth (5th-6th), and Groms (3rd-4th). Although LXMATS are not official recruiting events, the Adrenaline Evaluation Team assesses players at these events for future Adrenaline recruiting events, such as the Black Card Showcase and the Boys Showcase. Players will have ample opportunity to interact with LXM Pro players through clinics, coaching, and a Knockaround ™ autograph session following the game. There will also be Notre Dame coaching inspired clinics held throughout the day.

The Adrenaline Feel-it-Factory™ will be on-site fully equipped to showcase the latest Adrenaline Apparel. The Feel-it-Factory ™ lends itself to a unique Utah experience by bringing together the best local businesses to attend the event that typically offer equipment, food, apparel, and entertainment. With the help of high profile sponsors including Champion, STXMaverikCascadeGatorade,KnockaroundSKLZAthlete’s Performance, and Adrenaline Apparel, LXM|ATS: Utah will be an event you don’t want to miss.

Maverik has just signed on with Adrenaline and LXM PRO as one of the official team sponsors on the LXM PRO Tour. Team STX will face off against Team Maverik for the first time in the 2013 season on June 8th at Orange Coast College. Returning players include Kyle Harrison, Sam Bradman, and Max Ritz for team STX, and Brendan Porter, Brandon Corp, and Graham Gill for Team Maverik. To get a better look at LXM PRO, The Lacrosse Network will be live streaming the game in Orange County. Adrenaline will also live feed the game from the sidelines. Be sure to keep up with LXM|ATS highlights throughout the summer in anticipation of the fall tour.

Part I

The spring lacrosse season is winding down and players are reminiscing about what was, what wasn’t, and what might have been.  This is the time to take a deep breath and share gratitude and thanks to everybody who supports the sport. It is important that we take this opportunity to remember all the hard work put in on the field and on the wall to make ourselves better. Don’t forget about the hours spent at home stringing sticks, in the gym, and on the road this year.

Moreover, we must send our gratitude and thanks to our coaches, friends, and family who each made their own sacrifices to support us.  The amount of time and effort it takes to be successful in lacrosse cannot be underestimated. Some players were able to parlay this energy spent into particularly exciting seasons and Adrenaline Lacrosse would like to congratulate them.

We applaud all of Utah MVP’s, All-Conference, All-State, and All-American players and wish them luck in the future.  We would also like to congratulate the Academic All-Americans for their sacrifice and hard work on the field and in the classrooms.

Part 2

The 2013 spring awards season is here and Starz players from all-around Utah have been graciously accepting prizes and trophies in every category. These Starz players are spread out over 12 high School teams in Utah and are taking the state by storm. Some of these programs include familiar teams like Utah Starz, Blackhawks, Jolly Rogers, Top Gun, Northern Utah Thunder, and Advantage. These teams set a standard that is considered the very best in the sport. Congratulations!

About Starz Lacrosse

Designed to compliment local youth through programs, Starz takes the best players, male and female, and provides the opportunity to compete at the elite level with some of the best coaches in the sport today! Pioneer Challenge: DU Coaching Staff

Despite the fact that two thirds of the country is playing catch-up to the heavily concentrated east coast “hot beds” in lacrosse, the Midwest and West coast regions have gained momentum in their climb to the top. University of Denver has successfully established itself as a top tier NCAA Men’s Division I program, having secured the #4 seed going into the 2013 NCAA Men’s D I tournament. It’s no wonder Denver has gained significant interest from rising high school players; the coaching staff has been at the forefront of not only recruiting the best talent for its program, but to a greater extent, helping grow the game in the western U.S.

Immediately following their spring season, Denver will put its lacrosse program back on the map for the off-season, lining up its summer calendar with four University of Denver lacrosse camps and one team recruitment tournament. Originally titled the Denver Team Camp, the tournament has been renamed the Pioneer Challenge as a result of the recent partnership between Adrenaline Lacrosse and Tierney Lacrosse in Colorado. Tierney Lacrosse is a youth and high school lacrosse company owned and operated by Bill Tierney, Trevor Tierney, Matt Brown and Dylan Sheridan, the current coaching staff for the DU lacrosse team. Not only did Adrenaline agree to partner up with Tierney Lacrosse due to their same passion for growing the game in the West, but it was the coaching staff behind the four-year-old tournament that really solidified Adrenaline’s decision to team up with Tierney Lacrosse.

Bill Tierney learned the feeling of being a part of a national championship team while playing at Cortland State and has not looked back since. Beginning his coaching career as head coach for Great Neck South High School and Levittown High School, Bill made his way into the college scene at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). Bill made a statement as a coach, earning the team its first two NCAA appearances. He continued his collegiate coaching career through Johns Hopkins (1985 & 1987 national titles), Princeton (6 NCAA titles, 40 NCAA appearances, 14 Ivy League championships), and now University of Denver.  In 2002, Bill was inducted into the U.S. Lacrosse Hall of Fame.

Undoubtedly achieving his father’s expectations as a player, Trevor Tierney earned a spot on the lacrosse team at Princeton University where he picked up two NCAA national championships and was named 2001 Goalie of the Year, among other high-honor awards. Trevor continued his success as a goalie on the USA Team (2002 All-World Goalie), while also making his way through the MLL circuit (New Jersey Pride, Boston Cannons, Baltimore Bayhawks- 2005 MLL Championship, Denver Outlaws). Trevor began his career as a coach in 2008 as a defensive coordinator for the Denver Outlaws, only to join the University of Denver coaching staff a year later.

Matt Brown has endless pride in the University of Denver lacrosse program both as a player and coach. While at Denver, Brown earned various titles, including First Team All-Great Western Lacrosse League for attack as a senior. Brown led the Pioneers to the GWLL title (2003, 2005) and heavily contributed to the team’s highest school ranking of No. 18. in 2005. Following graduation Brown signed on to play in the National Lacrosse League (NLL) where he started for the Arizona Sting. While in Arizona, Brown gained coaching experience in high school and club lacrosse programs. He eventually returned to Denver to play with the Outlaws in the MLL. Brown is a major asset to the Denver coaching staff and is a prime example of the talent that has influenced the growing success of the program.

Dylan Sheridan was a nice addition to DU coaching staff in 2011 and has had a positive impact on the program over the last two years. Sheridan played lacrosse at Claremont McKenna College where he was named West Coast Lacrosse League Player of the Year in 2006. After graduation, Sheridan held several lacrosse positions, including assistant coach at Pfeiffer University and Lebanon Valley College. In 2012 Sheridan joined the Denver Outlaws as a free agent. Dylan has served as Tournament Director for several Adrenaline events, including the Elite Shootout and High Rollers.

Run by DU Coaches with exceptional lacrosse credentials, the Pioneer Challenge will take place June 21st-23rd at Dick's Sporting Good Park. Each team will be guaranteed six competitive games over the course of the weekend.  While discussing the plans, the Adrenaline VP of Events, Rory Doucette stated, “We couldn’t be more excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the Adrenaline Pioneer Challenge.  We have a great deal of respect for the University of Denver program and look forward to working on this event with their coaching staff.”  Adrenaline is a proud partner of Tierney Lacrosse with respect to the 2013 Pioneer Challenge, and supports the Denver coaches’ goal to grow and develop of the game of lacrosse in Colorado through Tierney Lacrosse.  To sign up your team for the Pioneer Challenge, click here!

Sneak Peek: Behind the First Adrenaline Commercial

Over the weekend of May 3rd and 4th, 2013, we set out to film our first-ever television commercial that will make its debut during the Quarterfinals of the NCAA, Division I, Men’s Lacrosse Championship.  With the guidance of our trusted Advertising Agency, Super Top Secret (Salt Lake City, Utah), we gathered over 200 individuals to shoot 19 pre-determined scenes, in 12 different locations all over San Diego.

Our cast consisted of everyone from elementary school-aged children and their parents, to local high school athletes and coaches, to a host of our own LXMPRO athletes of both Team Maverik United and Team STX (including STX endorsed athletes: Kyle Harrison, Sam Bradman, and Max Ritz).  Our script, which had been developed over the months leading up to the shoot, featured a variety of scenes that ranged from youth players celebrating a victory, to a locker-room mohawk-shaving scene, to clips of our LXMPRO players going through an AdrenaFIT workout at the SKLZ Training Center in Carlsbad.

What stood out to me about the project isn’t exactly what you might imagine.  Sure, it’s exciting to be involved with the creation of your company’s first-ever commercial set to air on ESPN…but that wasn’t it.  We hadn’t set out to create just a commercial; we had set out to create a piece that captured the soul of Adrenaline.  From youth players picking up their sticks for the first time, to professional players at the top of their game, we wanted to tap into the love of all things lacrosse – the things that unite all of us.  To achieve this, we had to pull out all the stops.  We used the newest, most ridiculous cameras; connected with a top-tier Director; and pulled together a dream-team crew to make it all happen.  The Adrenaline family showed up in full-force as we mobilized hundreds of players and parents to help create our vision, and I truly believe, that if you could boil down Adrenaline into 30 seconds, this is it.

Be sure to catch the commercial this weekend during the Quarterfinals of the NCAA, Division I, Men’s Lacrosse Championship.  The spot is set to premier on Sunday, May 19th, between 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm, during the North Carolina (#5) vs. Denver (#4) game at Lucas Oil Stadium on ESPNU or WatchESPN.  The commercial will also air on Sunday, the 19th, between the hours of 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm during the Duke (#7) vs. Notre Dame (#2) game (also on ESPNU or WatchESPN).

About RC

The RC Lacrosse Club was established in 2004 with the goal of preparing and developing young talented players for the next level of lacrosse. Since its inception, RC has provided the highest quality coaching and the most advanced playing opportunity in the Southern California area year after year. The RC family consists of competitive travel teams in the Youth, Middle School, High School and Elite Starz divisions, as well as developmental clinics at the Youth and Groms levels. RC players come from all over San Diego County and beyond.  The core of the program attends (or will eventually attend) Cathedral, Torrey Pines, Bishops, Santa Fe Christian, Pacific Ridge and Canyon Crest High Schools.  RC alumni have gone on to play NCAA lacrosse at Notre Dame, Duke, UNC, Syracuse, Cornell, Army, UPenn, Yale, Denver, Colgate, Bucknell, Vermont, Penn State, Towson, Ithaca, Tufts, Roanoke and Washington & Lee. About NC Mavericks

This program is designed to keep boys playing together throughout the off-season.  Mavericks bring together an amazing coaching staff to develop the talented lacrosse players in the North County area.  The MLC prides itself on not only being competitive but having fun while learning the game of lacrosse.  MLC has won several high school and elite championships and are excited to bring those same expectations to the middle school and youth teams.  This is not a "roll the balls out and play" type of program.  Practices are structured to get the very best out of the athletes.  Players at every level are held to higher standard of lacrosse play, sportsmanship, and team work.

This past week’s NCAA tournament action was all that, and then some. When the dust finally settled, several Western players are heading to the Final Four this weekend.

Things that stood out:

Denver Pioneers: after being down 6-0 to a high-powered, star-studded UNC team, the Pioneers rallied in epic fashion to punch their ticket to Philadelphia. WCS and Adrln family members Nick Eggemeyer, Hayden Schuette, Mike Riis, Tyler Ekeroth, Carson Cannon, Ryan LaPlante, Jack Pruitt, Wes BergandEric Adamson are all part of this underdog squad.

Watch WCS alum Eric Adamsonscore the tying goal and be involved in the game winner.

RIT Hidden Ball Trick: RIT continued their fairy tale season, upsetting the #1 seed, Cortland, in the Division III semifinals with a hidden ball trick. WCS alum Taylor Wisman was the guy who pretended to have the ball and fooled the Cortland goalie.  Check out the awesome play.

Cornell: The Big Red is the hottest team in the country right now and is clicking on all cylinders. Adrln family members, Sean DoyleandSten Jernudd, are headed to Philly this weekend, while teammate Rob Pannell more than likely locked up the Tewaarton trophy with his 8 point performance.

Duke: Has showed some tremendous resilience and fight coming back from tough deficits in their last two games. They have proven that the game is not over until the final whistle blows. Congratulations to Adrln family members Spencer PetersonandChad Cohan.

Agony of defeat: My heart goes out to The Fighting Irish and the Bulldogs whose incredible seasons came to an unfortunate close this weekend. It marks the end of the road for Adrln family members, Kyle Runyon, Eddy Glazener, Will Corrigan, Alex Moffit, Michael Keasey, and JW Mcgovern.

Many congratulations are in order for distinguished Adrenaline players:

First, a huge congrats to the Adrln Tropics and Adrln All-Americans Kieran Eissler, Matt Emery, Wilkins Dismuke, and Dan Morris on being selected to play in the 2013 Under Armour All American Game

Congratulations to NCAA Division III All-Americans Ronald Johnson (RC/Eastern University) and Taylor Wisman(Seattle/RIT).

Finally, a tremendous congrats to Scholar All-Americans Peter Baum (WCS/Colgate), Sam Snow (WCS/Fairfield), and Landon Carr(WCS/Maryland).

2012 Tewaaraton winner, and two-time All-American, Peter Baum, has elected to be an Adrenaline Professional Athlete and compete on the LXM PRO TourBaum, a native of Portland, Oregon, is the latest of a group of top young players who have chosen to showcase their talents on the LXM PRO tour.  LXM PRO and Adrenaline officially merged last year to provide a unique, mission-based, professional lacrosse experience marked by an interactive environment featuring unique access for teams and fans to some of the best players in the world. This approach allows professional players to have a personal connection to the core of our sport and a direct hand in its development. Baum says, “I have a great deal of respect and am certainly appreciative of the Ohio Machine for selecting me first in the draft and wish them the best of luck in their season.  My decision to join Adrenaline and LXM PRO has everything to do with my desire to help usher in the new generation of conscientious lacrosse athletes in the areas that I have a personal connection with.  I am excited to play at this high level with so many great players and am equally thrilled to be a part of the mission of Adrenaline and LXM PRO.”

The pride of the West, Baum grew up within the Adrenaline family.  As a high school athlete he quickly garnered the attention of NCAA coaches by competing in top-level Adrenaline recruitment programs.  Baum was also a star member of Adrenaline’s West Coast Starz program where he would eventually return to coach.  Baum is an integral member of the legendary Adrenaline Tropics Club (which is considered by many to be one of the top post high school club programs in the nation).

Peter’s 2012 Tewaaraton winning season, while attending Colgate University, is one of the best statistical years of any player in the history of the game.  He was the NCAA leader with 5.39 points per game while also leading with 3.72 goals per game.  His 67 goals in the 2012 season ranks 6th all time.  “Peter has been a part of the Adrenaline family for many years.  While we have all been extremely proud of his playing accomplishments, everyone knows that our company has a larger mission than just what happens on the field. To us, this is why Peter was a perfect fit.  As a true ambassador of the new era of lacrosse he has proven through coaching, mentoring, and serving as a role model, that he truly believes in what we are doing at Adrenaline and LXM PRO.  The Adrenaline Movement needs guys like him and we are proud that he has joined us as we help foster the growth of another generation of talented, mindful, and socially conscious athletes”, states Alex Cade, President Adrenaline Lacrosse.  In addition to being a signed professional athlete for Adrenaline, Baum will also have a full time position with the talented marketing team that Adrenaline has assembled.

Baum will join an impressive list of top players who are competing in LXM PRO.  Among them are Kyle Harrison (3 time All-American, Tewaaraton winner, Team USA), Sam Bradman (4 time All-American, 2012 Player of The Year, Team USA), Billy Bitter (3 time All-American, ACC Player of The Year), Matt Russell (3 time All-American, Goaltender of the Year), Graham Gill (3 time All-American), John Christmas (2 time All-American),  and a full complement of other former collegiate All-Americans dedicated to delivering an impactful and unique lacrosse experience to teams and fans alike.

Peter will make his professional debut as a member of Team STX, on June 8th in Orange County, California.  Team STX will face Team Maverik United to kick off the 2013 LXM PRO Tour.  The LXM PRO game Presented by Champion will be held in concert with the annual Adrenaline All-American Game at Orange Coast College.  “It is especially meaningful to start my career with Adrenaline and LXM PRO at this event that provides a venue for the top western players to receive the highest level of recognition.  It was an awesome experience being a guest coach for players at the first Adrenaline All American game.  It meant a lot to me and I am excited to get back onto the field with the rest of the LXM PRO’s and Adrenaline All Americans” states Baum.
